Sam Stubbs, a crucial defender for BRADFORD CITY, is being evaluated after being substituted late in Saturday’s televised League Two match with Grimsby Town. Mark Hughes is crossing his fingers that the problem is not serious.
A thigh injury forced Stubbs to be replaced in the 85th minute, and Jon Tomkinson made his debut in his place. Stubbs was a strong candidate for player of the match on the day after a solid effort.
“We hope he’s okay,” remarked Hughes. He just tensed up on his thigh, so hopefully it’s nothing serious.Having those leadership positions in the crucial sectors is critical. Sam is obviously a loud person who will entice and eject others.
“We’ll keep our fingers crossed for the injury because when he’s there, he’s a good influence on those in front of him.”
The striker Tyler Smith is expected to miss this weekend’s home game against Yorkshire rivals Harrogate Town, according to Hughes, who also confirmed it.
The former attacker for Hull City and Sheffield United was absent from the Mariners’ weekend draw.
Tyler has a groin strain, said Hughes. He’s going to be missing for a few weeks, it seems.
He probably won’t show up again the following week.
“It was challenging because we were without some good veteran players. Reorganization was required a little while, and it persisted throughout the game.
Rayhaan Tulloch and Chisom Afoka, in addition to substitute Alex Gilliead, who scored a tying goal late in the game, were singled out for appreciation by Hughes for their contributions on Saturday.
The City Manager went on to say, “I was happy with the effect they had.
Ray entered the game and immediately shown his technical skill in confined spaces. Being surrounded by people when receiving the ball doesn’t bother him.
If we can position him in the proper spots on the field—possibly a little higher in the penalty area—that’s encouraging. I predict he’ll cause issues.
Chisom entered the game; although he is a different kind of player, his meandering runs will have an impact on the opposition.Even though he has a rather unconventional approach, I was happy with the work he created.
