On Monday, it’s anticipated that the players who did not participate in international duty would start practicing again. However, Antony will delay his return in accordance with the arrangement until the claims are understood better.
The rest of Manchester United’s statement reiterated their steadfast opposition to all forms of abuse and violence, emphasized the need to safeguard all parties, and acknowledged the potential effects such claims might have on abuse victims.
In a later statement, Antony said, “Manchester United and I have decided that I take a break while these claims are investigated. This consensus is to avoid drawing unnecessary attention to my colleagues and steer clear of unwanted conflicts with the club. I will continue to adamantly maintain my innocence and will give the authorities my undivided assistance as they investigate. I want to return to the field as soon as possible.
However, Gabriela Cavallin, Antony’s ex-partner, voiced her displeasure at Manchester United’s decision to not formally suspend him in the wake of these accusations. The allegations cover occurrences that are said to have happened in Brazil and Manchester, with a particularly serious incident allegedly taking place at a Manchester hotel earlier this year.
