Rasmus Hojlund, a new Red Devils striker, has garnered much praise from Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, but not everyone has always been won over by the Danish star
Rasmus Hojlund, a summer signing for Manchester United, was warned by a past coach that he wasn’t a “standout talent,” yet Bruno Fernandes has spoken highly of the Danish international.
Hojlund was signed by the Red Devils for £72 million in the summer from Serie A team Atalanta, but he has only played 25 minutes of football due to a stress fracture in his back. That happened at the conclusion of last Sunday’s 3-1 loss away at Arsenal, when the 20-year-old was one of Erik ten Hag’s team’s few bright spots.
Before the United fans can even get a good look at their new talisman, a person who is familiar with Hojlund has informed them that the forward’s talent really lagged below that of his siblings as a child. The brothers’ neighborhood amateur club, Horsholm Usserod Idraetsklub (HUI), has a sporting director named Christian Mouroux.
His two younger brothers, twins Emil and Oscar, had more visible talent, he said in an interview with the Daily Mail. Rasmus did not stick out. Other players who were his age and caliber existed. The skills he possesses today were developed much later. I won’t lie; I was astonished by Rasmus’ asking price.
Because he was physically so large, Mouroux added, “He was playing for the age group above, so he was more evolved in that regard. “However, there was never a single instance when we believed he would become a star. It’s unexpected that he signed with a squad that paid for him to produce right away.
On the other hand, Fernandes has spoken highly of his new teammate and the initial reactions are encouraging. The confidence of Hojlund and his eagerness to become a fixture in the United locker room have particularly impressed the Portugal international.
“He’s someone who is always trying to speak to everyone, he is a kid that what I have seen until now who obviously wants to work he wants to get into the team,” Fernandes said. He is motivated to get in shape as quickly as possible, and I believe he will provide us a lot of energy, strength, and hopefully a lot of objectives.

I’ve always said I’m here and everyone behind them is here to serve them, so I want to develop that connection with him as well as with the other wingers and the other strikers. We want them to be joyful, to believe that the ball is coming, that they will have opportunities, and that their goals will be scored.
If United boss Ten Hag’s comments to reporters following the game against Arsenal are any indication, he is encouraged by what he has seen thus far. The Dutchman said, “I think he played really good. Rasmus Hojlund undoubtedly had a positive impact on the game, and Anthony Martial also gave a strong effort, which made me happy.
